Cardiac Rehabilition

Heart Disease remains to be the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. In fact, someone in the US has a heart attack every 40 seconds.

That is why Samaritan Healthcare is proud to provide Cardiac Rehabilitation services to the Moses Lake and surrounding areas.

Cardiac Rehab is a medically-supervised aerobic therapy program designed to help improve cardiovascular health following a heart event and may decrease the risk of further cardiovascular damage.
The overall goal of cardiac rehab is to improve your cardiovascular health. However, there are many other benefits of participating in cardiac rehab such as:
  • Decreased risk of further heart events
  • Improved resting blood pressure
  • Improved energy and stamina
  • Improved blood glucose levels
  • Improved psychosocial status: decreased symptoms of depression/anxiety
What happens in cardiac rehab?
First, your cardiologist or primary care provider will decide if you are eligible for cardiac rehab.
Then, one of our experienced exercise physiologists will contact you directly and invite you to visit the clinic and schedule an initial assessment.
At the initial assessment you will participate in an endurance test in order for the physiologist to assess your current cardiovascular health status.
Following the assessment, the exercise physiologists will develop an individualized treatment plan in order to address all of the risk factors that contribute to your health.
Then you will join cardiac rehab in a group like setting, three times per week for 24-36 sessions depending on medical necessity.
At every cardiac rehab session, heart rhythm, heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen, and blood glucose (when applicable) are monitored to ensure that we are providing the safest exercise setting for each patient.
Samaritan Cardiac Rehab also offers Phase III Maintenance
In Phase III, patients who have graduated from any phase II cardiac rehab program are eligible to participate. Phase III offers those who have committed to living a heart healthy lifestyle to continue to use our clinic in an open gym like setting.
We are proud to bring heart health to our community!
